  • Attorney General Mike DeWine : Child Safety Press Conference
    12-10-2012. Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine releases findings on the condition of the child welfare and foster care system in Ohio. The findings come as a result of eight child safety summits held by the Attorney General that gave foster parents, former foster children, and representatives of children's services agencies the chance to speak about their perspectives.

    The Attorney General outlines several specific issues of concern that resulted from the summits. A plan of action to address those concerns, including the formation of a newly established foster care advisory group, is announced. Streaming Video

  • 2012 Healthy Ohio Breastfeeding Friendly Award Winners
    The state of Ohio is committed to promoting and protecting a mother’s right to breastfeed her child for as long as she chooses, whether or not she returns to work. The Healthy Ohio Breastfeeding Friendly Awards program has two distinct awards. The Employer Award recognizes breastfeeding friendly employers that support their employees by “establishing and maintaining comprehensive, high-quality lactation support programs for their employees and working toward establishing paid maternity leave for all employed mothers”. The Business Award recognizes breastfeeding friendly businesses that create a supportive environment for their clients or customers who wish to breastfeed onsite. PDF

  • Incredible Years Program for Parents, Teachers and Children
    The Incredible Years Program (IYP) is an award-winning parent training, teacher training and child social skills training series selected by the U.S. Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention as an "exemplary" best practice. IYP was also selected as a model program by the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention. The series has been subject to numerous evaluations by independent groups, demonstrated excellent effectiveness and attained high overall ratings. The American Psychological Division 12 Task Force recommended the IYP as a well-established treatment for children with conduct problems. HTML
